The city of Alameda is proposing a city wide ban on tobacco which
will include the use of e-cigarettes. The ban is quite imposing
including prohibitions in places of employment and public places.
It also includes a vaping ban at outdoor work sites, public sidewalks,
construction sites, small businesses, owner-operated
businesses open to the public, and outdoor seating areas at
restaurants and bars. Recreation areas and prohibitions in multi-
unit rental complexes are slated for the ban including balconies and
porches.
Can you imagine that? Where have our freedoms gone people?
Who are they to take our freedoms like that at the whim of a
three person council and who the hell are we to allow it?
Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the clerk of Alameda:
To who it may concern,Just a quick note to say that I have been a non-smoker
now for 10 months because of my personal vaporizer or “e-cig”.
Banning something that is not illegal is probably not a good idea
and will probably not stand up in court. Remember, it’s
tobacco that is the bad guy here, not e-cigarettes. There is NO
tobacco in an e-cigarette. I ask you to consider this when
you make any hasty decisions that reflect on more people than
just the citizens of Alameda.Thank you for your time,
Compton already approved this form of tyranny:

Nearly 8 in 10 of the members of the U.S. Congress
lack an academic background in economics or business.
According to a study by the Employment Policies
Institute (EPI), only 8.4 percent have a degree in
economics, while 13.7 percent hold a degree in business
or accounting.
Is there any wonder why our nation is on the brink of
bankruptcy?

Let me preface this by saying, I think this country has been on the
down side of a slipery slope for a long while now and I don’t trust
Democrats or Republicans at all. They are, in my opinon, all liars.
I believe that this country needs to read and live by the constitution,
period. With that being said, and by no means am I saying that Bush
was the end all be all of presidents, tell me what you think of this.

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt,
which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate,
in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt
again within 10 years, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never
even read, would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?
If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the
United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration,
would you question his patriotism and wonder who’s side he was on?
If George Bush had pronounced the Marine “Corps” like Marine “Corpse”
over and over again in a speech to the Marine Corps would you think
him an idiot?
If George W. Bush had put 87,000 workers out of work
by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling
on companies that have one of the best safety records
of any industry just because one company had an accident would you
have agreed?
If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a
TelePrompTer installed to be able to get through a press conference,
would you have laughed and said this is more proof
of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled
by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of
TAXPAYER money to take Laura Bush to a play in New York City,
would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings
of GM stock by 90%and given the unions a majority stake in GM,
would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense
of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given England’s Prime Minister, Gordon Brown,
a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVD s,
when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful
and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England
an iPod containing videos of his speeches,
would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia,
would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent
“Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers
with people who cannot seem to keep current
on their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states
in the United States, would you have said that he is clueless.
If George W. Bush would have flown all the way to Denmark
to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him,
would you have thought he was a self important, conceited, egotistical jerk.
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro”
in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo),
and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had misspelled the word “advice”
would you have hammered him for it for years
like Dan Quayle and potatoes as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel
to go plant a single tree on Earth Day,
would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush’s administration had okay-ed Air Force One
flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter
in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic,
would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims
throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless
than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a
major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars
who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate
on much of what is happening in America , would you have approved.
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO
of a major corporation, even though he had
no constitutional authority to do so,
would you have approved?
If the Prime Minister of America’s strongest ally, had taken George W
Bush to task, for his irresponsible declaration that his country give up
the land, that helps ensure his nations’ security from the many
surrounding enemy nations, who seek his nation’s destruction, would
you have called him an arrogant buffoon?
So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant
and impressive? Can’t think of anything? Don’t worry. He did all of
this in his first 28 months—so you’ll have twenty months to come
up with an answer.
Every statement in this email is factual and
directly attributable to Barrack Hussein Obama.
Every bumble is a matter of record and completely verifiable.

I wrote this e-mail to Lowes customer support about a week ago.
They still haven’t responded. Is Lowes customer care department
populated with idiots? Perhaps.I’m still wating for a response from them… Do you think they will?
Dear customer care,
Apparently Lowes store Policy Number 415 states that employees may not use
personal vaporizers or more commonly known as E-cigarettes any longer on company
premises and this policy also apparently includes customers. Is this true? If so, does
that mean a steaming cup of coffee is also banned from the store too? Because in
essence, the vapor that comes from a personal vaporizer is simply water vapor and
flavoring. I would appreciate some clarification in this matter please. Now if you want
to make a policy, you should ban people with horrendous body odor or women that
bathe in cheap perfume, now thats offensive.
I am now a non-smoker for 4 full months due to switching to a personal vaporizer
and my quality of life has improved tenfold because of that switch. I will also tell you
that every one of my many friends support me and e-cigarettes 100% and to date
I have convinced 6 of my friends to make the switch from tobacco to vaporizing too.
Remember that all of my many friends have many friends too.
Now I understand that stores can make any policy they care to and that is your
perrogative but it is also the consumers perrogative to not shop in your store when
Home Depot is a lot closer and has no ban or policy. E-cigs create no ashes and are
not disposable therefore no cigarette butts. Also, e-cigarettes contain no tobacco
and do not produce smoke. Lastly, e-cigarettes are not illegal. Companies had better
think long and hard about banning personal vaporizer or “e-cig” usage in their stores
because these are the wave of the future for smokers. To sum it up, if you ban my
use of a personal vaporizer in your store, I will not shop in your store any longer and
I will tell my friends.
Thank you for your time, I look forward to your response.
UPDATE: 4-24-2011
Lowes response was in my e-mailbox this morning.Your message was deleted without being read on Sunday, April 24, 2011
2:14:52 AM (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada).
Now that is superior Lowes customer care if there ever was any.
And you know damn good and well someone read it.
Enough said.

I am not a big fan of John McCain (R-AZ) but he definetly laid one out
to the Prez this afternoon. The budget bill rammed through congress is
something to be ashamed of to put it lightly. The bill is over 1900 pages
long, (sound familiar?), and is so fat in pork and earmarks that each
page accounts for over 500 million of this proposed 1.1 trillion dollar
budget. It is just shameful. Who the puck is representing us???
This link is not long at all and I recommend you read it.

It is interesting that Calderon, the current president of Mexico, will
bash Arizona and it hard stand on illegal aliens from Mexico within
it’s borders but has a 180 degree position when it comes to South
American immigrants illegally crossing his southern border.
WTF is that all about?

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in
Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from
those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as
it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half
the wars of the world.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent
the government from wasting the labors of the people under
the pretense of taking care of them.
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government
results from too much government.
No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
– Thomas JeffersonThe strongest reason for the people to retain the right to
keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect
themselves against tyranny in government.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time
with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the
propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is
sinful and tyrannical.
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to
our liberties than standing armies. If the American people
ever allow private banks to control the issue of their
currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks
and corporations that will grow up around the banks will
deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up
homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”
These were received in an e-mail or two, I thought they
bared repeating.

This is one of their THREE DAY WORK WEEKS that we all pay for.
I am ready to start from the beginning by voting out all elected
officials and not letting any of them stay in office for more than
two terms. No more lifelong healthcare, retirement, voting in
their own pay raises, taking perks on our taxes, etc.

House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. , R-Norwalk,
pictured standing, far right, speaks while colleagues Rep. Barbara
Lambert, D-Milford and Rep. Jack F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport,
play solitaire Monday night as the House convened to vote on
a new budget. (AP)
The guy sitting in the row in front of these two…. he’s on Facebook,
and the guy behind Hennessy is checking out the baseball scores.
These are the folks that couldn’t get the budget out by Oct. 1, and
are about to control your health care, cap and trade, and the list
goes on….

Okay, okay, OKAY!, I concede!
Amazingly enough, I don’t even think the polls had closed when
Coakley the joke from Massachusetts conceded to Scott Brown
in the special election to fill the late Ted Kennedy’s senate seat
today. I’m sure Senator elect Brown will buy a brand new chair
for his new office after all, who wants to smell like, er uh, 50 year
old Chivas.
Another amazing and interesting fact about Coakley the joke’s
instant concession is that she now holds the world record for
conceding to an opponent after taking it away from the brief
possession of Senator John Kerry. Too bad Jack. I understand
John Kerry actually called Martha (Marsha, who cares?) and
congratulated and thanked her for taking the record.
I hear it was a landslide victory for Scott Brown, maybe it was better
to not actually count the votes after all… The Democrats in power
might really look bad. One thing I know is that Obama really looks bad
for stumping for her.
