steam’s corner: resolutions?

Most everyone makes a resolution or two for New Years however,
not everyone keeps their promise to themselves. Having the desire
to change something in one’s life for the better is a noble undertaking
to be sure. The problem is that it’s not always that easy to do.

For a lot of people, quitting smoking is going to be their New Year’s
Resolution. To those people that desire to become smoke free and
actually try to do it this year, I am behind you 100% and wish you
a heart felt Good Luck! It ain’t easy! But, it can be done!

If you really have the desire to kick the habit, my advise to you is
forget about the patch, forget about the gum and forget about
bandits and snus. If you really want to kick the butts this year
and do it for good, I suggest you try an e-cig and some quality
e-juice from a reputable American supplier. I did it and it’s been
just over a year since I’ve bought a pack of cigarettes.

Vaping instead of smoking still delivers nicotine but it leaves behind
ALL of the cancer causing chemicals found in tobacco cigarettes.
The flavors of e-juice are incredible and number over 100 to date.
You can also vary the amount of nicotine in your e-cig from high
to low to none. Not like a “light” cigarette which still gives you ALL
of the cancer causing chemicals, the ingredients in e-juice are
completely FDA safe for human consumption with NO carcinogens.

By using an e-cig you also have that security blanket feeling of
actually holding your e-cig as like a cigarette and also still have
that hand to mouth habit that we smokers have programmed into
our selves. By mimicking the old habits of smoking, the transition
to vaping is seamless without the deadly smoke of cigarettes.

One thing to note for those that believe that nicotine is a cancer
causing agent, this is simply not true. nicotine is a stimulant just
as caffeine is. In fact caffeine and nicotine are produced by
plants as a defense mechanism to kill insects that attempt to eat
the leaves of the plant. Nicotine is in fact used as a modern day
insecticide and it is highly effective. So, the myth that nicotine is
a cancer causing agent is simply not true. You can do the minimal
research for your self on the Internet and I encourage you to do
so.

Personally, I just want to say that the electronic cigarette helped
me to quit smoking on the very same day I bought it. I never
looked back. I believe for a cigarette smoker to quit smoking by
using an e-cig, they have to want to give up cigarettes and must
be willing to do so before they can become unchained from their
unhealthy habit. Once off the butts and using an e-cig, one can
very easily lower their nicotine level and not even notice the
change until they are also nicotine free if they so choose to do.

Finally, the last thing to mention is the up to 80% savings in
costs associated with vaping vs. smoking. You will definitely enjoy
having a lot more money in your pocket as vaping is so much less
expensive than smoking. A very nice PV or personal vaporizer will
cost in the $50.00 range which is about the average cost of a
carton of filter cigarettes and e-juice on average costs about
10 to 50 cents a milliliter. The average vaper uses about 3 mils a
day making your daily cost of vaping well under 2 dollars a day.

There is my suggestion for you if you are going to try to kick the
smoking habit this New Years day. I know you can do it, you just
have to want to, thats all. Good luck!

ring pots?

Apparently these candies are quite real. Ok, really, seriously?
Why is there a loaded looking hippy guy there with a JOINT in
his mouth? Why is the word LEGALIZE written on the candy’s
wrapper? Is there a hidden agenda here? Is it aimed at children?
What do you think?

Below is a video interviewing some people in a park about the pot
candy. Listen to the lady in the black dress and what she has to
say about the weed shaped treat. It may or may not amaze you
but it amazed me.

LA Vapers Club Vapemeet, Clubhouse 66 – Glendora, CA 10-8-11

I just wanted to say thank you to Darrin of the LA Vapers Club for
doing another stellar job of hosting yet another Vapemeet for all the
Southern California vapers out here. I have attended 3 meets now
and have had a total blast each time so again, thanks Darrin, your
efforts are greatly appreciated by me and all of us, I’m sure.

Now vapemeets are a lot of fun but it’s our local vendors that
really make the meet-ups pop! So a huge thank you to all of our
vendors who bring merchandise for sale and provide samples and
give aways for our raffle. Your generosity is matched only by
your great friendship. We really appreciate you being here.

And lastly, there are a few vendors that I’d like to thank personally
because they have always been there to help me and provide me
with the best vaping experience I can have.

bombayvaping.com is an awesome site and two of the coolest people
I know, Sayer and Ayse. All us vapers could get along just fine with
Bombay alone!
liberty-flights.com is the first Internet store I bought vaping
accessories from. The team at Liberty Flights is top notch and
they take Pay Pal. Not many vape vendors do, thanks to Pay Pal’s
retarded no tobacco policy.
want2vape.com is a company I wanted to give a shout out to also
because they provided me with a sample of a new product that
seems to work well and I’ll be buying more. What is it? It’s called
Atty refresher and I’m impressed. And last on this short list is,
elixirliquid.com. Elixir is a phenomenal vape site providing more than
just great e-liquid. Elixir provides an awesome internet video forum/
support group for anyone that cares to join in. I have met over
100 new friends in the last ten months because of Elixir and for
that I am grateful so thank you Elixir.

steam’s corner: the provari

So I entered the world of high voltage vaping yesterday. With the
help of two very good friends of mine, I was able to secure the last
ProVari that Jason had at his store, (E-Cig City in Laguna Beach),
before I got there at 2:00pm for the SCVC Vape Meet!

To sum the ProVari up in one word, I think I’d have to go with awsome.
I am very impressed with this new mod. I can’t say that this the last
mod I’ll ever buy but aside from the Buzz Pro, I really don’t see any
mods on the market that really surpass this one dollar for dollar for
what you get. Since vaping is realitively new, I am sure that in the
coming years there will be something new that’ll blow us away but till
then, I think I’m done buying mods for a long time!

If you are thinking about vaping at voltages higher than 3.7 volts, you
can not beat the ProVari or the Buzz Pro for that matter in fact, I was
really torn between the two. I think the deciding factors for me were
the fact that this ProVari was available and the Buzz Pro has a two to
three week waiting list. Besides these, Jack and Donna sort of made
me an offer I just couldn’t refuse!

So there ya go, three thumbs up for the ProVari from Steam’s corner.

steams corner: Lowes

I wrote this e-mail to Lowes customer support about a week ago.
They still haven’t responded. Is Lowes customer care department
populated with idiots? Perhaps.

I’m still wating for a response from them… Do you think they will?

Dear customer care,

Apparently Lowes store Policy Number 415 states that employees may not use
personal vaporizers or more commonly known as E-cigarettes any longer on company
premises and this policy also apparently includes customers. Is this true? If so, does
that mean a steaming cup of coffee is also banned from the store too? Because in
essence, the vapor that comes from a personal vaporizer is simply water vapor and
flavoring. I would appreciate some clarification in this matter please. Now if you want
to make a policy, you should ban people with horrendous body odor or women that
bathe in cheap perfume, now thats offensive.

I am now a non-smoker for 4 full months due to switching to a personal vaporizer
and my quality of life has improved tenfold because of that switch. I will also tell you
that every one of my many friends support me and e-cigarettes 100% and to date
I have convinced 6 of my friends to make the switch from tobacco to vaporizing too.
Remember that all of my many friends have many friends too.

Now I understand that stores can make any policy they care to and that is your
perrogative but it is also the consumers perrogative to not shop in your store when
Home Depot is a lot closer and has no ban or policy. E-cigs create no ashes and are
not disposable therefore no cigarette butts. Also, e-cigarettes contain no tobacco
and do not produce smoke. Lastly, e-cigarettes are not illegal. Companies had better
think long and hard about banning personal vaporizer or “e-cig” usage in their stores
because these are the wave of the future for smokers. To sum it up, if you ban my
use of a personal vaporizer in your store, I will not shop in your store any longer and
I will tell my friends.

Thank you for your time, I look forward to your response.

UPDATE: 4-24-2011

Lowes response was in my e-mailbox this morning.

Your message was deleted without being read on Sunday, April 24, 2011
2:14:52 AM (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada).

Now that is superior Lowes customer care if there ever was any.
And you know damn good and well someone read it.
Enough said.
