Back from Field day

Arrived home from a 5 day Field Day camping trip this afternoon.
I slept for five hours I was so burnt out. Glad I have tomorrow off!

I went to field day. I assisted in setting up a HUGE freaking beam. Moved picnic tables made out of whole damned trees.Pulled coax into place and helpped run power cords and bars to all the set ups. Sat out there the entire 24 hour period and all I was “allowed” to do was make one stinking 10meter FM contact to Albany, New York. It was a D1 to boot so crap for points. Then got passed over to run any other rig or frequency all because the backwards jackasses in my “club” think a woman’s place is in the kitchen! They treat female hams as cute or a novelty. Well MY ticket dosen’t have Hello Kitty stamps or smily faces. It’s the same damned ticket they have! I had to know the same info they did to get my license. There’s a lot of “honey-do” techs out there but I’m NOT one of them. The next AH to call me YL or XYL is gonna get an earful! Feel free to look me up. WD9JKC. OK, I’m much calmer now that I’ve gotten that out. I’ve been stewing since field day and needed to decompress.

Too bad you weren’t out here for Field day, You’de have lost your voice working with us. Too many radios and not enough operators… I am the breakfast cook and others did lunches and dinners. We ate like royalty and you’de have loved it! neener neener neener!
